The types of braces Includes:
1. Traditional metal braces
2. Lingual braces

5. Invisible braces
6. Clear aligners
7. Orthodontics appliances
There are 2 main types of teeth braces for adults and kids: fixed and removable. The American Association of Orthodontists and the American Dental Association recommend that all kids be evaluated for orthodontics by age 7. By this age, the orthodontist can spot subtle problems with jaw growth and emerging teeth. Most kids begin active treatment between ages 9 and 14. Orthodontists recommend that you correct dental problems while your child is still growing.
A night guard is a mouth guard used overnight to protect your teeth, jaw bones and jaw joints from the wear and tear from night time grinding and clenching.
Some orthodontists do use clear retainers to adjust teeth slightly. It's very useful to keep your teeth straight by using this removable retainer and keep your smile.
The patients need to avoid the hard, sticky, sugary food after wearing the orthodontic braces.
Your wear time will depend on:
The type of braces you have, the amount of dental correction needed, your age, how well you comply with wear time if you have removable braces. Some patients need to wear braces few month, some need to wear it few years. You'd better talk with dentist and check the right wearing time.
There might be some discomfortable feeling when wearing the braces at the first time. There are some useful tips to avoid painful, take over-the-counter pain relief medicine, use an oral anesthetic, apply orthodontic wax, eat soft foods, use an icepack, drink cold water, rinse with saltwater, chew on frozen teething rings, using a heating pad if cold treatments are't working. The painful will be released and disppear after your mouth get used to the orthodontic braces.
